About Randy's Donuts

Located at 3737 Murphy Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92123, Randy's Donuts operates as a bakery serving San Diego in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 6 am–5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (858) 737-4372. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is randysdonuts.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 358 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Here on a Friday at 1130AM. Plenty of parking with some 15 minute spots right in front. Only a few small tables so not much seating available. It’s only 11:30 and the selection is very limited and they were not making more. They don’t close until 5 so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t make more. The donuts were good. Is it’s a heavier donut but I enjoyed it. Just wish there was more of a selection. Service was friendly and helpful. There was only one other customer there.

Hit this place at 10am on a Friday morning and they were out of almost all donuts and weren't planning on making more. The employee did their best to provide excellent service, even though she had no donuts, though. One of the main reason we go to Randy's is because they make fresh donuts all day long. We will not be back to this location. I recommend hitting the Randy's in Chula Vista instead since they had lots of every donut when we went.

Always wanted to go to Randy’s Donut because of the movie β€œFriday”. Wonderful experience but suggest going more than an hour prior to closing, the options were very limited.

While on a road trip to meet a friend in San Diego for a concert, I stayed a little outside of the city in Mission Valley to save some money. As I pulled into the hotel, I spotted a Randy's Donuts sign at the adjacent strip mall. It wasn't open 24 hours (or I would have absolutely dropped in), but I took note of the hours and knew I had to go back in the morning before hitting the road into the city the next day. Randy's has some of the best yeast donuts ever, and they're among my favorites. The original location has been my go-to whenever I am in Los Angeles, and my tummy was excited to see a location in San Diego! The place was bustling around 9:30 the next morning (a Saturday). There was a table of old timers who were obviously local regulars, as well as some construction workers and yuppies walking their designer dogs. There was a short line to order, but the shop had plenty of employees who were friendly, welcoming, and efficient. They moved the line quickly, which is nice if you just want to grab a sweet treat without waiting forever. The display case was full of so many tasty looking donuts and flavors! Nutella, butter crumb, blueberry cake, maple glazed, and more. Of cou

If you love donuts, this place is a must. Randy’s Donuts absolutely deliversβ€”fresh, soft, and packed with flavor. The variety is insane, and everything looks as good as it tastes. Service was fast and friendly, even when it’s busy, and the shop itself has a clean, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your treat. Super easy to get to and plenty of parking, which is always a plus. I’m a donut lover, and this spot hits every time. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re anywhere nearby. You won’t leave disappointed.
